How to Install RapidConnect Desktop

Requirements

The RapidConnect Desktop application has been designed to work in conjunction with RapidConnect hardware running the following firmware:

Step 1: Install Hardware Drivers

Users must install device Drivers for their hardware before connecting to RapidConnect Desktop. The Drivers support the following RapidConnect devices:

Once Drivers are installed, connect the device to your PC and allow the Driver setup process to complete.

*OS X now includes a security feature that may prevent the Drivers from operating. If you are experiencing issues, navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General. If the Drivers are blocked from operating, you will see a Driver from Silicon Labs at the bottom of the list with a button next to it labelled "Allow". Click this button and enter your OS X username and password, if necessary.

 

 

Step 2: Install RapidConnect Desktop Software

System Requirements

Windows: Windows 7 and later (64bit)

macOS: Yosemite and later

Download

Download the RapidConnect Desktop installer for your platform:

Install

Windows: Once you have downloaded the RapidConnect Desktop installer, double-click to start the install process. Follow all instructions until installation is complete.

macOS: Once you have downloaded the RapidConnect Desktop .dmg file, right-click on the file and select 'Open' from the menu. You'll be presented with an icon representing the application, and a shortcut to your "Applications" folder. Drag the application icon to your Applications folder to complete the installation process.

*OS X now includes a security feature that may prevent the RapidConnect Desktop software from operating. If you are experiencing issues, navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General and enable the software to run.

 

 

Step 3: Connect Devices

Once the device drivers have been installed plug the devices into the machine with the RapidConnect Desktop Application installed. The devices should be assigned a comport once any driver installation steps are complete.

 

 

Step 4: Launch Application

Instructions

Windows: Locate the RapidConnect Desktop .exe file form the install path and double-click on the .exe file to launch the RapidConnect Desktop Application. 

macOS: Locate the rapidconnect-desktop-mac application file in the Applications folder using 'Finder'. Right-click on the application file and click open to launch the RapidConnect Desktop Application.
