What's the easiest way to upgrade the firmware on my prototype devices?

There are a few different ways to upgrade the firmware on your RapidConnect devices. The fastest method is a Serial Firmware Upgrade. However, this will require serial access to the RapidConnect hardware.

If you are using a RapidConnect USB Stick or RapidConnect Development Boards, your hardware has built-in support for USB.

If you are using a RapidConnect module that has not yet been mounted to a daughterboard, you can place it in the RapidConnect Programming Fixture and connect the fixture to a PC via USB.

If you are using a RapidConnect module that has already been mounted on a daughterboard, you will need to access the UART TX/RX pins on the module from test points or your Host microcontroller.

If none of these options are feasible or you only need to update a handful of units, OTA Firmware Upgrades may be a good option. You use a second RapidConnect-based device, in conjunction with RapidConnect Desktop, as the OTA Upgrade Server. Instructions are available here.
