I have implemented the RapidConnect Serial Protocol in my device's Host microcontroller. If I upgrade the RapidConnect firmware to a newer version, do I have to change my Host code to work with the new firmware?

Efforts are taken to keep the RapidConnect firmware streams backwards compatible by not modifying existing frames and only adding new ones. The frame structure of the serial protocol itself does not change between minor revisions. Therefore, you should not have to change your Host code to work with the new firmware revision.

New frames/features in the new firmware will become accessible once you add Host support for them. In the rare case that specific versions are not backwards compatible, discrepancies will be explained in the Release Notes.
