One of the strengths of Zigbee as a technology, and the Zigbee Alliance as an organization, is a robust certification process for devices intending to carry the Zigbee mark. This ensures that any Zigbee Certified device will be fully interoperable with other Certified devices. Devices are tested for both network level and application layer interoperability.

The Alliance maintains a list of authorized, independent test houses, and Zigbee certification must be executed by one of the designated test houses. Currently, these include:

- NTS
- TRaC Global
- TUV
- CESI

Each of these testing houses uses the standardized Zigbee test harness as a baseline for certification. This ensures devices tested at different facilities will still be interoperable. The test harness is also available to members of the Alliance for pre-testing.

MMB's RapidConnect platform has enabled a wide variety of our customers devices that have successfully achieved Zigbee Certification, have been deployed in many different Smart Home and Commercial ecosystems.

In addition to our standards compliant implementation in RapidConnect, we work with our customers prior to certification to ensure their devices will operate successfully against the Zigbee test harness, and we can help manage and support your formal certification process. All of this means faster time to market and less interoperability risk for your product.

For more information, the full process is described in detail here: Zigbee Alliance Certification Process.
