What is RapidConnect?
RapidConnect is a fully-featured, configurable zigbee application with support for HA 1.2 and similar profiles, designed for Rapid Integration into existing devices.

What is the zigbee Stack?
The zigbee stack is the native code operating on any zigbee silicon. The stack includes the MAC and PHY hardware control layer, as well facilities for Network Security and the Application Framework.
What does the zigbee Stack not include?
The zigbee stack does not include the Application Layer, which implements support for a given zigbee Application Profile like Smart Energy or Home Automation; that is, the functional logic of a zigbee device.
Adopters are expected to leverage the complex interface to the zigbee stack (i.e. the Application Framework) to create their own Application Layer and to independently integrate network and device functionality.
How does RapidConnect Improve on the zigbee Stack?
RapidConnect improves on the zigbee Stack in two key ways:
Provides a fully featured, configurable Application Layer that may be leveraged by any integrating device to interoperate with a zigbee network
Provides a superior interface to the zigbee stack:
Simplifies and abstracts complex functions, from creating endpoints and clusters, to joining or forming a network, to transmitting commands and performing attribute reporting, all for Rapid Integration
Goes “beyond the spec” to include superior solutions to common zigbee networking problems encountered by MMB through nearly a decade of device-enablement experience
Provides built-in support for popular zigbee-compliant channels and profiles like iControl, Control4 and Daintree
