Why would I want to use the U.FL version of the RapidConnect Module?

The standard version of the RapidConnect Module includes a built-in antenna. This antenna will perform well in all applications except for cases where the module is mounted inside a metallic enclosure. Metallic enclosures will block the RF packets, so it will be necessary to use an external antenna. The U.FL version of our module includes a connector for an external whip antenna that can be mounted on your enclosure. The RapidConnect module datasheet shows all of the pre-certified whip antenna parts that can be used in conjunction with the U.FL module.
